HAZOP Leader – IChemE Approved
The aim of this 2-day IChemE-approved course is to train the course participants to become effective and efficient HAZOP review facilitators. HAZOP studies are the process industry’s accepted standard for critically examining planned or existing processes and procedures and identifying associated hazards to people, the environment or the equipment. This course has the option of an additional 3 hours of one on one training with a senior consultant and can greatly lift your capabilities in a real-world setting. As an example, this could include reviewing your HAZOP procedure, supporting your HAZOP preparation, reviewing your HAZOP report, and supporting you in a HAZOP workshop. Students are assumed to be proficient in HAZOP participation and are wishing to further upskill their HAZOP experience. Our HAZOP E-Learning is offered free of charge as part of this course to improve preparation.

- Risk Management model
- How to organise and prepare for a HAZOP
- How to structure and execute a HAZOP workshop
- How to facilitate effectively
- How HAZOP can fail
- HAZOP report critique
- HAZOP variants
- Equipment failure modes
- All attendees will get two workshop opportunities to facilitate a mock HAZOP and receive personalised feedback
Participants’ e-learning is used to prepare for the course, with 6-8 hours of online learning free of charge.
Cost per attendee: From $2545 +GST including a post-course assignment: This includes a test and an assessment of your HAZOP terms of reference and report. We will issue a report back to you with relevant feedback.
